History of Musselshell Valley Equipment

Our team at Musselshell Valley Equipment welcomes you!

Musselshell Valley Equipment was established in Roundup, Mt. in 1946 by Paul Funk as an International Harvester truck and farm equipment dealership. The start-up crew also included a parts man and a service man. Paul also handled the IH brand of refrigeration, and as REA completed electric service to rural areas Paul followed the power lines selling refrigerators and freezers and was very successful.

Musselshell Valley Equipment moved to its present location at 418 Main Street in 1968.

In 1973 Paul's youngest son Bill joined the team full-time with a business degree, and began his career in auto sales. Due to the increased demand for farm equipment during the 70's, Bill soon moved to the service department and spent the next fifteen years there, eventually running the shop as service manager. Today Bill is the general manager and owner of Musselshell Valley Equipment Co.

In 1975 Paul's 2nd son Jon started working as vehicle sales manager and held that position until 2002 when he retired.

Today Musselshell Valley Equipment employs 18 fulltime employees, and the business thrives with repeat business. "We just treat people like we would like to be treated, and it seems to work." says Bill, quoting a mantra he got from Paul when he first entered the business. The IH brand of farm equipment was bought by Case in the 1980's and became Case IH, a brand that all of the employees are very loyal to. Musselshell Valley Equipment is always among the top selling dealers of Case IH farm equipment in the region and Bill credits that fact to "Service after the sale".
